Drive In/Drive Through
Drive-In/Drive-Through is often used in facilities with a low number of production lines and in need of high density storage. Pallets are stored in block systems with usually two blocks and serviced by one operating aisle.
- Higher number of pallets per cubic meter than other systems
- Low stock rotation
- Ideal for cold, chill and bulk storage applications
Drive-In systems consists of continuous lanes of racking with only a single load and retrieval aisle and operates on the basis of first in, last out (FILO). Floor mounted guide-rails assist drivers to accurately position their pallets/loads in these lanes. This system ensures the maximum use of warehouse space.
Drive-Through racking access aisles are positioned on either face of the block. Drive-Through racking offers the advantage that picking and replenishment can take place independently of each other, allowing first in, first out (FIFO) principals to be operated.
